According to the director of Argentina’s Migration Board, Florencia Carignano, on February 9, there were 33 pregnant Russian women on board another Ethiopian Airlines flight. Many of them, as the official explained, come because a child born in Argentina automatically receives citizenship of the country by land law, and parents can apply for a residence permit. In total, according to Carignano, about 21,000 Russians came to Argentina last year, half of them pregnant women. At the same time, 7,000 Russian women LEFT out of the country after giving birth. At the end of January, the head of the consular service of the Russian Embassy in Argentina, Georgy Polin, in an interview with The Guardian saidthat in 2022, up to 2.5 thousand Russians moved to the country, including pregnant women.”
